Description
Saphir Amiral Gloss 50ml (Neutral 02) – Shoe Polishing Paste
The Amiral Gloss has been crafted with absolute attention to detail, allowing both professionals and shoe care enthusiasts to effortlessly achieve a high-gloss, mirror-like shine. It offers a more effective and user-friendly polishing experience compared to the traditional application of Pâte de Luxe.
The carefully selected blend of hard and glossy natural waxes, combined in the perfect ratio with turpentine – a natural solvent – impresses with its speed in achieving a dazzling, mirror-like shine.
While Pâte de Luxe offers excellent cleaning and nourishing properties, it contains a lower concentration of hard and glossy waxes, requiring a more refined polishing technique—precisely where Amiral Gloss is designed to excel.
This product is specifically designed to deliver a high-gloss, mirror-like finish exclusively on the toe caps and heel areas of shoes—the ideal zones for achieving this effect.
Suitable Uses:
This product is exclusively designed to provide a high-gloss shine and flawless finish on the toe caps and heels of shoes. These are the only areas where polishing delivers the maximum effect.
Applying it to other areas, such as the creases formed during walking, is not recommended, as the wax cannot remain intact. Continuous movement causes cracks on its surface, resulting in an uneven and undesirable finish.
Care instructions:
The Amiral Gloss is applied after the maintenance of your shoes – refer to the “Tips” section for more details.
Apply the Amiral Gloss with a cotton cloth wrapped around your middle and index fingers, making small circular motions on the areas you wish to polish. The pressure on the leather should be light, as the process requires a delicate touch. Repeat the application, and once you feel resistance, place a drop of water on the leather with your finger.
Gently caress the leather with the same cloth, continuing the circular motions. The goal is to enhance the gloss of the glaçage (mirror shine) and create a reflection on the surface of the shoe by repeating the previous steps.
Glaçage (mirror shine) is a process that requires patience. You can alternate between applying it on the right and left shoe to allow the layers to dry properly.
Let it dry for 30 minutes without brushing the leather, to avoid altering the result. Then, gently polish with the Lustreur Glove (code 2520002) for a perfect finish.
Tips:
Please note that the Amiral Gloss is not intended for overall shoe care, but exclusively for polishing.
If your shoes have black marks or residue from wax, silicone, or resins, clean the pores of the leather with Réno’mat (code 0514).
For shoes that are regularly maintained and have light dirt from normal use, we recommend using the Cleaning Lotion (code 0544). Before applying the Amiral Gloss, we suggest using the Universel Cream (code 0904) or Renovateur (code 0122) for gentle cleaning and moisturizing of the leather, without altering the patina.
For optimal results, alternate the care of your shoes with:
- Crème Surfine (code 0032): Exceptionally nourishing and moisturizing, thanks to its fluid formula.
- Pâte de Luxe (code 0002 or 0004): Essential for a deeper shine and the preferred choice of professional shoeshiners.
We recommend applying these products with the Pommadier Brush (code 2600) for easy use and effective care of the upper part and stitching of the shoes.
Always test first on a hidden area.
Product made in France!
Before general use, test first on a hidden part of the shoe to avoid damage!

Instructions for use
Care of Smooth Leather
Step 1
Remove the laces.
Remove the laces and properly insert wooden shoe trees into your footwear.
Step 2
Brush the leather.
First, remove any surface dust using a sheepskin brush, or more stubborn dirt with a horsehair brush. Gently rub the leather, paying special attention to the creases and the areas where the sole is bonded.
Step 3
Deep cleaning (optional)
This step is performed periodically on heavily worn shoes. Skip it if your shoes are in good condition.
Apply RÉNO’MAT to the shoe using a cotton cloth. Remember to change the area of the cloth when it becomes dirty.
RÉNO’MAT is used to remove dirt, stains, and wax buildup. It deeply cleanses the pores of the leather, eliminating all silicones and resins often found in inferior shoe care products. RÉNO’MAT allows Saphir pastes and creams to penetrate deeply, nourishing and treating the leather.
Step 4
Prepare the leather.
Apply RENOVATEUR cream to the shoe using a cotton cloth.
The RENOVATEUR cream cleans, moisturizes, and nourishes the leather while simultaneously contracting the leather pores, allowing for easy absorption of the CRÈME SURFINE.
Step 5
Shoe care (the most important part)
Apply the appropriate color of CRÈME SURFINE to the shoe using an application brush.
CRÈME SURFINE is specially designed to enhance and prolong the lifespan of your shoes. Its exclusive formulation cleanses, nourishes, recolors, shines, and protects the leather.
Dip the edge of the application brush lightly into the jar of CRÈME SURFINE. Apply the product with gentle back-and-forth motions, lightly pressing and paying special attention to the creases. After application, allow the shoe to dry for a few minutes.
Step 6
Polishing
Brush the shoe with a horsehair brush to enhance the natural wax shine of CRÈME SURFINE. It is recommended to use a black bristle brush for black and dark-colored shoes, or a blonde bristle brush for lighter colors, to avoid unwanted color staining from residual polish.
Step 7
The finishing touch
Gently rub the leather with a cotton cloth to enhance the shine and remove any excess cream.
Do you need to use waterproofing spray?
Once the aforementioned procedures have been completed and barring exposure to severe weather conditions, further waterproofing on smooth leathers is not necessary as the high concentration of natural waxes in Saphir products provides ample protection. However, if the shoes will be exposed to more demanding conditions, waterproofing is recommended.
